Comments

This is the world's smallest cuckoo, at 17 grams and 6 in. As described by Austin, "It regularly invades the domed nests of wrens and fantails and then pushes its head through the far wall, lays its egg and then pushes on through and out. The dupe, who soon returns, repairs the ruptured wall and continues its interrupted incubation".

Austin Jr, O.L. (1961): Birds of the World, Golden Press, New York, p 152
